Never Say Never director Jon M. Chu tells HollywoodLife.com about his ideal role for Justin and secrets from the making of the film!
Fresh off his bad boy guest star role on CSI, Justin Bieber may already have his next role all lined up. In an exclusive interview, Never Say Never director Jon M. Chu tells us, “I’d want to stretch him and see him play someone different from himself. Maybe I’d shave his head and make him play like a pirate…with tattoos all over.”
Jon also dished on creating the documentary, the extended version of the film, Justin’s new haircut, and his chance encounter with Angelina Jolie.
On Creating the Documentary:
“I really talked to him and was like like listen we’re not trying to make a reality show…I want to make a documentary and its going to be a digital tapestry of who are…I lived on his bus sort of Almost Famous style and that’s when I really got to get in there and find out who he was as a boy, as a 16-year-old boy.”
On the Extended Version of the Film:
“The main thing is that in our directors stand cut is that we had a lot of footage we were going to put in the movie, but the movie was just too long. So we took a lot of numbers out we took some fun prank stuff that had nothing to do with the story of the film which we is what we were focusing on in the first film and this version we were like…we can swap things out.”
On Justin’s New Haircut:
“I know that he wanted to do it for a long time. And I actually wanted him to do it in 3D, and my plan was to have him do it, shoot in 3D, and then hide him for two weeks…but they refused to do it. I think now, it was just time. He’s about to turn 17, and he’s like I’m cutting my hair.”
On Justin Meeting Angelina Jolie For the First Time:
“It was so funny because I never see Justin ever starstruck…but we’re walking on the carpet and all the sudden he grabs my goes ‘Angelina Jolie! Let’s go! Let’s go!…So he goes over to her and without hesitation goes straight up to her, introduces himself, and she was so nice…it sort of like this moment in time with two icons collided in the night.”
Really? Is this just a rumor?......
